This boutique hotel is perfect for people who love chill, hipster vibes mixed with unique luxurious touches.

I wasn’t sure how it would be possible to turn a house into a hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. They did it incredibly well. It didn’t feel like you were in someone’s house but you also felt right at home, if you know what I mean. It has all the cozy home-like elements you love.

The reception area and bar is the perfect place to meet with friends and family or simply sit and read a book or do some work on your laptop. You can also enjoy your complimentary beer or purchase one of the many other menu items they offer, including craft beer from small town Ontario breweries and Canadian coffee brands.

I was there with family so it was perfect to meet up with them in this trendy lounge area before heading out to dinner and for coffee the next morning.

Some other amenities include a beautiful outdoor area. They had hammocks, patio seating, sauna, cold plunge, and a campfire area. They do have heat lamps outside if you’re there on a chilly night.

The sauna is available for use 24/7. This was nice because after dinner when we got back to the hotel, my husband and his brother enjoyed the sauna and cold plunge. This was around 11pm.

Even though there wasn’t a staff member at the desk at all hours of the day, we never felt unsure about it. Everything is coded with your room number and is very secure.

If you’re local to the area and looking for a sauna to use, you can book this one for $25/use. Otherwise, I recommend Scandinave Spa.

When it comes to the rooms, they really do a great job of creating a relaxing, chill vibe. The original hardwood floors provide that cozy home-like vibe and give the space character. The ceilings are high and the windows look out the the beautiful tree-lined street. They have an old heating register that is typical of older homes. It gives the space a nostalgic feel.

The details that I really loved the nespresso and tea in the room. The kettle was a unique black colour with cork handles. I had never seen one before and now I need to find one for my own home.

The king beds are so comfortable. The best part – which might surprise you – is that there are no TVs in the room. This really helps create a vibe that doesn’t even make you feel like watching TV, so you don’t miss it. There’s a poetry book by Jacquline Whitney that’s nice to flip through.
